Mission Statement:

To maintain a standard of excellence for the private investigator and security guard industry by ensuring all applicants meet the established criteria for licensing and registration, and enforcing the laws governing the industry to protect the safety of the citizens of Ohio.

With the passage of House Bill 404, registration and license expiration dates have been extended to July 1, 2021. This applies to any registrations and licenses that have expired or are set to expire between March 9, 2020 through April 1, 2021. Registrations set to expire April 2, 2021 or later must be renewed by their expiration date. For more information about this extension, please contact pisglr@dps.ohio.gov.
